PARISH NOTICES – SUNDAY 29th APRIL 2018
- TODAY, there is an open day at the Lunzjata Prayer House in Rabat. More details are on the programm leaflets which are by the church’s entrances.
- ON TUESDAY is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, Patron Saint of
the workers.
- THIS WEDNESDAY is the Fifth Wednesday of Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel. During the 9.30am. there will be with a sermon on Our Lady.
followed by the Chaplet of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
- This week Family Blessings will be as follows:
MONDAY – Alfred Gauci, Angelo Pullicino and Bay Street.
THURSDAY – Reggie Miller and Luqa Briffa Street.
- ON THURSDAY at 7.00pm, Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) will be held at the Parish Centre. Meditations will be on the coming Sunday Gospel.
- FRIDAY is the first Friday of the month. At 5.45pm there will be an adoration led by the Divine Mercy Group.
The Local Council will be organising a Festival of Maltese Folklore, in Balluta Square.
- ON SATURDAY, after the 9.30am Mass there will be the recital of The Rosary.
- ON SUNDAY at 9.45am at the St. Dorothy School there will be a SEMINAR for adolescence who will be receiving the Sacrament of Cofirmation, their parents and their godparents.
ON SUNDAY at 10.00am, at the Parish Centre there will be a Third Order
of Carmelite meeting.
- The Head of the Sliema Primary School informs that registration for children starting Kinder class in the next scolastic year is now open and registrations can be done at the primary school.
- On the 8th of May, Feast of Our Lady of Pompei, there will be a pilgrimage to Marsaxlokk. Departure at 8.45am from Imrabat Street. Bookings can be done at the Parish Offic eor with Doris Mallia.
- On the 15th May there will be a Mother’s Day Activity with Mass at the church of Our Lady of the Angels in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq followed by a Buffet Breakfast in a hotel.

- This SATURDAY and SUNDAY there will be an open weekend for public to visit the Lunzjata Prayer House in the limits of Rabat. Visitors can view the renovation works and the service this House offers. One can also participate in the various spiritual activites which include prayers, a talk, a tour of the place, and also a celebration of Mass. More details are on the programm leaflets which are by the church’s entrances.
- To commemorate the 160th annversary of Our Lady’s appartions in Lourdes, the Balluta Parish will be organising a pilgrimage to Lourdes. More information is available at the sacristy or from th Parish Office. Bookings are open.
- Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna and Bishop Mario Grech invite all people of goodwill to attend the March for Life which will take place today. This Mrch is being organised by LifeNetwork. The subject being ‘The Embyro is one of us’. The sole aim of this march is to protect life from the moment of conception. The March for Life will start at 4.00pm from Castille Square in Valletta and ends by 5.30pm. The Bishops encourage us to pray for the protection of life and for all those lawmakers to really and truly protect human life and dignity and to refrain from all that haresses children’s right.

- ON MONDAY the Prayer and Intercession Group will be meeting at 7.15pm at the Parish Centre. Everybody is welcome to join.
- THIS WEDNESDAY is the Third Wednesday of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. During the 9.30am. there will be with a sermon on Our Lady. followed by the devotional prayer of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
- ON THURSDAY at 7.00pm, Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) will be held at the Parish Centre. Meditations will be on the coming Sunday Gospel.
- ON FRIDAY, at 7.15pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting for parents whose children will be receiving the First Holy Communion. Children will have a special meeting at the same time at the Parish Centre.

2. THIS WEDNESDAY is the Second Wednesday of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. During the 9.30am. there will be with a sermon on Our Lady. followed by the Chaplet of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
3. We congratulate Fr, Kurt Mizzi O.Carm who yesterday was ordained priest. We wish him all the best and remember him in our prayers.
4. THIS SUNDAY is ‘The Day of Charity’. All proceeds from the collections on next Saturday and Sunday will go to works of charity and Charity Homes that the Church has in Malta. The Church helps people who find themselves homeless, children and youths who have encountered great problems in their upbringing, people addicted to drugs, ill-treated women, the elderly, disabled persons, immigrants and refugees. At present our Carmelite Community is hosting two families with a young girl and an infant and another four men, of different nationalities. Along this week by the altar there will be baskets for those who wish to donate preserved food for these families.
5. We are happy to announce that the Congregation of Saints has approved the Diocesan Inquiry which was held in Malta about the saintly life and the graces acquired throught the intercession of Fr. Avertan Fenech, a Carmelite Friar.
Reviewing all the matrial they were given, the Congregation acknowledges that there is ample evidence to say that Fr. Avertan lived a virtuos and exemplary life and his fame is one of a saintly person. Let us pray for the cause of Fr. Avertan that it could make a valid progress.
