PARISH NOTICES – SUNDAY 25th FEBRUARY 2018
- This week, from Monday to Friday, during the 9.30am mass there will be Spiritual Exercises for everyone, by Fr. Martin D. Schembri O. Carm
- On TUESDAY we will continue with family blessings and home visits to some families in Dun Anton Tabone Street.
- On THURSDAY the parish will be holding the PARISH ASSEMBLY at 7.00pm at the Titu Brandsma Centre. Everybody is invited to take part in this important moment for our parish where we will be discussing proposals for pastoral work in our parish. All pastoral workers are requested to attend.
- On FRIDAY, at 3.30pm, at the Parish Centre, there will be a talk on healthy eating. People aged 60 and over are invited to attend. The 60+ Group will be meeting at that time instead of in the morning.
Also on FRIDAY, at 7.15pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting for parents whose children will be receiving the Sagrament of Confirmation. Parents are duty bound to attend. Adoloscents will have a special meeting at the same time at the Parish Centre.
5. On SUNDAY the 10.00am Mass will be with the participation of children and families.
Also on SUNDAY at 10.00am, there will be a Carmelite Third Order meeting at the Parish Centre.
- We thank all those who welcomed us and offered donations in this first collection for the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Those who weren’t at home when we called, and who still wish to make a donation, can do so by giving their donation to one of the friars.
- In AUGUST the parish will be organising a Pilgrimage to Lourdes. More information can be obtained from the sacristy or from the Parish Office.

OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL PARISH – BALLUTA PARISH NOTICES –
SUNDAY 18th FEBRUARY 2018
1. On TUESDAY we will continue with family blessings and home visits to some families in Dun Anton Tabone Street.
At 7.15pm there will be a GRUFAN meeting at the parish centre.
2. On THURSDAY, at 7.00pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting with meditations on the coming Sunday’s Gospel.
3. Pope Francis has invited Catholics around the world so that this Friday they participate in a Day of Prayer and Fasting for Peace. For this reason the 60+ Group meeting will be at 10.00am instead of at 3.30pm., at the parish centre.
4. On FRIDAY, at 5.45pm there will be a celebration of the Way of the Cross. 5. Also on FRIDAY, at 7.15pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting for parents whose children will be receiving the Sagrament of the First Holy Communion. Parents are duty bound to attend. Children will have a special meeting at the same time at the Parish Centre. 6. On SUNDAY, the FAMILY COMMISISON will be organising a retreat for couples at St. Joseph Home in Rabat. Those wishing to attend can list their names in the sacristy.
7. In MARCH the St. Julians Local Council, together with the Balluta Parish, will be organising a Course for Adults in the use of computer. The course will be every Tuesday morning. One can apply for this course at the St. Julians Local Council.
8. Collection of envelopes with donations for the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel will end this week. We encourage everybody to do his best in helping us cover the Feast’s expenses.
9. Today at 3.30pm at the parish centre there will be a film forum on the film WAR ROOM. This film is suitable for all the family with an example on how a family can grow in its faith. We encourage families and all those who wish, to attend.

Notices – 11/02/18
- This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. It is a day of fasting and abstinence. It will be a good thing if one attends mass on this day. Mass times will be as those of weekdays. Ashes will be administered during each mass to remind us of this time of grace and penance. At 6.30pm there will be a concelebration and sermon to start this holy time together.
- On TUESDAY and THURSDAY we will continue with family blessings and home visits to some families in Sacred Heart Street.
- On THURSDAY, at 7.00pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting with meditations on the coming Sunday’s Gospel.
- On FRIDAY, and every Friday throughout Lent, at 6.30pm there will be a celebration of the Way of the Cross.
- Also on FRIDAY, at 7.15pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting for parents whose children will be receiving the Sagrament of Confirmation. Parents are duty bound to attend. Adoloscents will have a special meeting at the same time at the Parish Centre
- ON SATURDAY, at 3.30pm, at the Carmel Youths Centre, there will be a meeting for students aged 11 to 13. At the same Centre, between Saturday and Sunday, there will be a Live-In for students in Four Form.

This collection will go towards the expenses of installation and bills for the lighting during the Feast period, and also for bands and other expenses. We encourage everybody to do his best in helping us in these expenses. In the envelopes one can find information on last year’s expenses, and how funds were collected.
- On THURSDAY we will continue with home visits and family blessings. On Thursday from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. we will be visiting some families in Sacred Heart Street. These families will be informed of these visits in advance.
Also on THURSDAY, at 7.00pm, at the Parish Centre there will be a meeting with meditations on the coming Sunday’s Gospel.
- On FRIDAY, after the evening Mass, at the Adoration Chapel there will be prayers for Carmelite Vocations
- SATURDAY is the feast of St. Paul Appostle,Patron of Malt. It is a holy day of obligation. Mass times will be as those on Sundays
- On SATURDAY evening and SUNDAY we celebrate the Carmelite Vocation Day. Together with prayers, there will be a special collection in aid of the Carmelite Vocations. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
- This evening at 4.00pm in Independence Garden, the Holy Rosary will be recited infront of the statue of Our Lady.

- The Vicar General has informed us that there have been various reports on masses in certain hotels. For the public’s knowledge, we would like to inform the Mario Clayton Camilleri is not a Catholic priest and he doesn’t celebrate the Catholic Mass. Amidst these hotels there is one close to us in Tower Road.
